THE CONSTITUTION OF THE MEDICAL AND DENTAL CONSULTANTS' ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA (MDCAN) ADOPTED BY THE ANNUAL DELEGATES MEETING HELD AT LAGOS, 20TH JULY, 1991 AND AMMENDED BY THE ANNUAL DELEGATES MEETING , BENIN CITY, 23RD AUGUST, 1997 AND DELEGATES MEETING IN ZARIA ON 28TH AUGUST, 1999.

MDCAN has chapters in all States of Nigeria, there are a total of 36 states in Nigeria and then Abuja, the federal capital territory.

Aims and Objectives

  •  To promote the achievement and maintenance of health services standard throughout Nigeria.

  •  To uphold the ethics of the Medical and Dental professions at all times.

  •   To promote the professional development of health and allied sciences.

  •  To consider regularly National Health issues and advise Government appropriately.

  •  To advise on Consultancy services in the various health institutions in Nigeria.

  •   To promote the welfare of all Medical and Dental Consultants in Nigeria.

  •   To co-operate with organizations which have similar aims and objectives.


MDCAN

The Medical and Dental Consultants' Association of Nigeria (MDCAN), an affiliate of Nigerian Medical Association is the largest specialist medical association in the west African sub-region with over 2,000 members from teaching and specialist hospitals from all parts of Nigeria.
